1. Our guidance counselors will host a Senior Parent Meeting next Monday evening at 7:00 pm in the Library. This session focuses on the college search and application process.

3. Cathedral Volleyball will hold PAA/Fan Appreciation Night on Thursday, Sept. 22. Cathedral plays Foley in the North Gym, starting at 5 pm (JV) and 7:15 pm (Varsity). Wear Blue & Gold or your Cathedral sports uniform to get in free. There will be door prizes and competitions.
4.On Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at 7:00 PM there will be a prayer service for World Peace Day. The service will take place in between the buildings of Cathedral High School (3rd Street North). We are hoping that all students/parents/families will join us. Please spread the word!
5. Parent Council is Tuesday, Sept 20th, 11:30, Downstairs Conference Room, South Bldg. Guest Speaker is Lynn Grewing. She will be able to provide an update with some of the new and upcoming changes occurring at Cathedral.
6. The library is open every day except Fridays (or last day before a vacation) until 4:30 for students who want to study while waiting for a ride. It is a quiet study site. Students who are around the school after school must be in the library because it is supervised.
7. From our Advancement Office:
We have some Outingz coupon books available for purchase in the Main Office and the Advancement Office. The cost per book is $25. The proceeds from the sale of the book ($9) will go to the Cathedral Fund. Checks made out to Cathedral High School or cash, please.
There are 440 coupons in the book this year. You only need to use three or so to get your money back. There is definitely something for everyone!

8. From our Football Booster Parents:
It is that time of year when Fall is in the air, kids are back in school and the players have taken the field. This is also the time for the Annual CHS Football softener salt sale. We want to THANK YOU for your past support and ask that you again consider placing an order for softener salt or ice melt. Not much has changed since last year, even the prices are the same! This year the players will be delivering your salt order on Saturday October 8th. Order forms are available from any football player and they should be returned along with payment to any CHS football player or the Activities Office at Cathedral (312 7th Ave No St. Cloud, MN 56303). Please return by 9/30/16.

9. And the CHS/SJP are selling beautiful fall mums again this year this week! (Sept. 12-16) They will, once again, be selling them at the football game on September 16. They appreciate advanced orders, through any swimmer/diver or you can contact the Activities Office.
9. Information for Senior Parents about yearbook photos:
Senior Picture Info: All senior pictures must be in by November 1. The yearbook staff says the earlier, the better! Pictures need to be at least 300 DPI, color or black & white. The photo must be appropriate for the Cathedral yearbook (not provocative or too revealing). These may be sent via email, disk, flash drive, or paper copy to email@example.com. The picture will be placed in a 3 X 3 box. If the picture does not fit, the yearbook staff will crop to the necessary size.
Baby Picture Info: Celebrate your senior with a baby ad in this year’s yearbook! The deadline for having baby ads turned in will be November 1.
Please have your ads in by this date in order to give the yearbook staff to have enough time to place them into the book! To turn the ad in, either email it to myself at firstname.lastname@example.org or send the ad to the Main Office. We will send any hard copy pictures back to you as soon as we are finished with them. In order for this process to run smoothly, we ask that when your ad is turned in, all parts are sent to us at the same time.

10. Homecoming and Prom Dress Exchange: Bring in and donate your dresses from past Homecoming and Prom dances and we will have a dress exchange. This will be a fun way for your daughter to find a “new” dress for the upcoming Homecoming dance. This dress exchange will be done at no cost.
What: Bring in your past formal dresses (homecoming and prom) to the office at CHS. When you bring in a dress you will have the opportunity to pick out a new dress on the first exchange “shopping” day.
When: Exchange “shopping” days will happen before Homecoming and then again in the spring for Prom. If you bring in a dress you will be able to shop the first day and then everyone else is welcomed to shop on the following days. All of the dresses will be free, but we would encourage you to return the dress after the dance so that we can reuse it again for next year.

11. One more time: Homecoming is just a little over a month away; we do have a dress code at our formal dances, so please keep these restrictions in mind:
- dresses should be longer than fingertip length when arms are straight.
- dresses should be modest, meaning nothing low cut or too revealing; strapless dresses or dresses with spaghetti straps are allowed as long as they cover adequately
- no bare midriff, or cutouts with skin showing
- dresses should have backs that are not too low or revealing
We don't want to have to send anyone home because of an inappropriate dress. That would certainly ruin the event for her. We ask that parents determine if the dress is modest beforehand. Please make sure that your daughter tries her dress on for you, and that it meets our dress code for formal dances. If you have any questions about its appropriateness, send me a photo.
