1. You should have received a letter about conferences, which are this Thursday (11-3), 4:00 to 7:00 pm and next Wednesday, (11-9), 4:00 to 6:00 pm. Report cards will be handed out at conferences, and the ones remaining will be sent out on Thursday, Nov. 10. While report cards feel more official, remember that you can look at your child's current grades at any time through PowerSchool. If you click on the grade, you will go to the whole listing of assignments/grades for each subject. If you are having any trouble using either PowerSchool or Schoology, contact Cindy Sieling at firstname.lastname@example.org.
There will be a brief meeting for 7th grade parents at 7:00 pm on Thursday right at the end of conferences. This is just a check-in meeting now that the seventh graders have one quarter under their belts. Bring your questions/concerns, etc.
Important: You are also urged to participate in one of two short sessions for The Campaign for Cathedral piggybacked with the parent/ student/ teacher conferences on Thursday, November 3rd and/or Wednesday, November 9th. Each session will begin at 6 PM and will conclude no later than 6:30 PM. Snacks and beverages will be served. The sessions will be located in the Board Room on the lower floor of the South building immediately adjacent to the cafeteria. The purpose of each session is to provide you with the latest information regarding goals #8 and #9 of Master Plan 2018. These two goals relate to our hoped-for plans to improve our facilities.
Since you will already be here on campus for Conferences please take an extra few minutes to be informed about these goals.
There will be no pressure, no arm-twisting, no shaming, just information.
If for some reason you can't participate in one of these two sessions a third one is on the calendar for Monday, December 5th at 6 PM.
2. Our Spirit Shop will be open during conferences. There will be a "free gift" of a Cathedral pizza cutter with every purchase during Conference hours...Thursday, 4-7pm and Wednesday, 4-6pm.
3. Cathedral's annual Grandparents' Day is Nov. 22, the day before Thanksgiving vacation starts. If you are a new parent, and would like an invitation sent to your child's grandparents, please either call the Main Office or click back to this email with the addresses. If you sent addresses to us in the past, we sent those invitations out yesterday. The day for grandparents involves a nice breakfast with grandchild(ren) and then we all go to Mass together, usually celebrated by the Bishop. I am reminded every year that grandparents matter as much, if not more, to teenagers. They love their grandmas and grandpas, and grandparents, in turn, are so proud of these young adults. It's really a great day.
