A Message to Parents
It's been an incredibly smooth start to the school year. Perhaps you are hearing complaints at home about getting up early, homework, etc. We are not seeing that at school. We see students who appear to be happy to be here, and engaged in learning.
I have spoken to the seniors a couple of times now - urging them to get going on college applications. Both of our counselors, Bridget Hamak and Mary Quick, are very willing to help with the college application process, as am I. Let us know if you have questions, or encourage your senior to visit with one of us about the whole process.
There is a Volleyball Fundraiser on Sunday, September 10th at the BlueLine South, 4-7 p.m. This event will be hosted by CHS Volleyball players and our team keeps 20% of profit raised during this time!
Thank you to so many of you who responded to my questions about the post-Homecoming dance activity for freshman. After all that, we heard from the YMCA again, and they had reconsidered our request. So we will be taking the freshmen there following the dance. It's a great opportunity for students to see the new Y. The letter about Homecoming for freshmen will come out next week.
Parent Council has its first meeting on Sept. 19. I know that this group would love to have many new and returning members, so please mark this on your calendar: Sept. 19 at 11:30 am in the Conference Room.
