A Message to Parents

Dear Parents,

A message from Student Senate:

Hello Cathedral Parents!
As you all know, our school Homecoming dance is Saturday. We know this is last minute, but we still need a few more chaperones. The dance is from 8-11:30 at Atwood Center on the SCSU campus. The chaperones would simply stand and supervise the doors to the dance floor, make sure students don't leave, etc. Any volunteers would be greatly appreciated. If you are willing to help out, just respond to this email and Mrs. Grewing will give your name to the juniors in charge of the Homecoming Dance.
Thank you,
Cathedral Student Senate

A few reminders about Homecoming Week:

  • I will be grilling hot dogs at the Soccer games at Whitney on Thursday - free as long as they last.  We do this because we want to celebrate all home events this week, not just football.
  • Volleyball Dig Pink night is Thursday night also. The girls will be playing Little Falls. Players will be selling t-shirts, beads and bags at lunch. Items will also be available at the game (as supplies last). T-shirts are $12, beads $1 and bags are $5. Proceeds being donated to Coborns Cancer Center.
  • Don't forget about the annual Tailgate event before Friday night's Football game at SCSU. There will be food and entertainment! The fun starts at 5:30.

  • The Homecoming Dance for grades 9-12 is Saturday evening at Atwood Center on the SCSU campus. Freshmen will meet at host families at 4:30, travel by bus to the Newman Center for Mass, then on to Atwood for dinner together, followed by the dance. They will enjoy some post dance fun at the YMCA until 12:45 am.  Thanks so much to all of the volunteers who help to make this event possible.
  • For grades 10-12, the dance is 8 - 11:30 pm.   Students may not leave the dance early unless they have a note from a parent. All of the rules for dances apply: dress must be modest and appropriate; dancing must also be appropriate. If a student has invited a friend/date from another school, that student is expected to follow all of Cathedral's rules and expectations, and to respond respectfully to any directives from teachers or chaperones.  Otherwise they will be asked to leave.
  • In keeping with the idea of "homecoming," our students want the people who have been devastated by hurricanes to all be able to "come home."  Campus Ministers are leading a Hurricane Relief Fund. Their goal is that every family donates $5 (or more) during this Homecoming week.
