A Message to Parents

Dear Parents,

We have our fall Open House for prospective students tonight, 6:30 to 8:30.  We are finding that it's hard to figure out how to best advertise events like this.  Folks just don't read the paper or listen to the radio like they used to, but social media only reaches a limited audience also.  We do know that the best advertising is word-of-mouth.  Please pass on information about Open House to anyone you know who might be interested in CHS.  We always appreciate your kind words and promotion of Cathedral. That is more meaningful to other parents than any advertisement.

Our fall conferences are this Thursday (Nov. 9) and next Monday (Nov. 13), 4:00 to 7:00 pm.  You will be able to pick up your student's 1st quarter report card at that time.  For new parents: all of the high school teachers are located in the North Gym and the middle school teachers are in the Cafeteria.  There are no individual conference times.  Parents wait in fairly short lines for a five-minute conversation with each teacher.  The lines are always much shorter the second night.

The National Honor Society is hosting a blood drive this Wednesday Nov. 8 from 8-2 in the Center Gym. There is still room for donors. Please email dfrank@cathedralcrusaders.org to schedule a donation time.

Our annual Grandparents' Day is just around the corner on Nov. 21. If you are new to Cathedral, we want to be able to send your student's grandparents an invitation.  Contact Rose in the Main Office with the address or click back to this email with that information.  We'll send them a nice invitation to enjoy a great breakfast and Mass with grandchild(ren).  If you have given us those addresses in the past, grandparents will automatically receive an invitation.  This day is one of the highlights of the school year, with hundreds of grandparents joining us that morning.  I will also explain this day to our 7th graders.
