News and Upcoming Events at Cathedral
I hope you are having a great week. There is a great deal happening
at CHS and I am going to try send the majority of the news in what I
am calling the “Crusader Connection.” This is the information,
updates and news we have to share with you. We receive a great
deal of information, so I will do my best to get it to you in a timely and
I will continue to send you news blasts and things to note in E -
Blasts. If you have news, or want something shared, please email it
to me directly.
Information to share:
Peanut Butter – Please remember that we have students with
allergies to peanut butter. Please monitor student “cold” lunches and
snacks. We want to keep all students safe and this is one way you
can help us with that mission!!
Midterms – Midterms were emailed to parents this week. If you had
any issues with the new online system, please let the office know.
We heard of no “glitches” and want to be as efficient with our
communications as possible.
Lunch Account Information – Please know that we have moved our
lunch payment system to an online system. The transition was a
smooth one at CHS. You will receive a separate email on the
payment information in the days ahead.
Africa Trip Fundraiser - Breakfast fundraiser for the 2019 Cathedral
Africa trip at the St. Cloud Country Club on Sunday, October 7.
Breakfast runs from 8 AM - 11 AM. Tickets are available at the door
or buy from a student going on the trip. Tickets are $10 for adults
and $7 for students.
Parent Council Update - Fall and coolness are definitely in the air.
I love fall and all the beautiful colors that God surrounds us with.
AMAZING! With that, our next Parent Council meeting is Tuesday,
Oct 9th. It is held in the South Building Basement Conference Room
from 11:30-approximately 1PM. You are free to come and leave, as
you need. I know life is busy.
Our speaker this month is CHS Health Education and Driver's
Education Teacher, Mr. B (Bob Bjornstad), he is speaking on "Health
and Adolescence of our Youth".
As the year progresses we are continually looking for individuals that
you would like to see present at Parent Council. If you know of any,
please let me know.
A friendly reminder that the Parent Council mission statement,
purpose, meeting dates, officers, past meeting minutes, are all
located on the Cathedral website under the parent tab, under Parent
Council for you to reference at any time.

KYES Banquet Seating Available - The KYES Benefit Banquet is
an evening event on Tuesday, October 16th at the Rivers Edge
Convention Center supporting Catholic Talk Radio.
Catholic Community Schools has partnered with KYES this year
because we feel it is a perfect fit. Catholic Education provides quality
education, religious and moral formation, and is essential for the
future of the Catholic faith. Catholic Radio gives listeners the
opportunity to grow deeper in their faith. It gives listeners the courage
they need to evangelize and share their faith with family, friends, and
NEW THIS YEAR: A generous matching fund has been established
to support Catholic education! A number of Catholic schools will be
represented, each to be included in the financial blessings of this
initiative. All 9 Catholic Community Schools are included in this match

Oct. 26 ♦ The Diocesan Middle School Gathering with Jesse
Manibusan is scheduled from 6:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. on October 26 at
St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church 219 2nd St N, Sartell, MN
56377. The event will feature: supper, games, music, fun, prayer,
fellowship and learning about our faith. Cost for the event is a
suggested $50.00 per parish or $5.00 donation per person as
participants are able to help to defray costs. Click here to register.

Oct. 27 – 28 ♦ St. Cloud (DCYC) Diocesan Catholic Youth
Conference for youth in grades 9-12. This event will begin at 1:00
p.m. on Saturday and closing at 1:00 pm on Sunday, October 28 at
Young Life Camp, Detroit Lakes, MN. Jesse Manibusan will be our
guest speaker and Bishop Kettler will preside for Mass. Other
elements of the conference include: workshops, reconciliation,
adoration, recreation, awesome music, food and

OTHER DATES TO NOTE:
November 2 – Heritage Dinner – Information will be sent from our
November 5 – No school for students. Staff In service Day
November 21 – Grandparents Day – No bussing. Please note that if
you gave us addresses on the “green slip” this fall of your family
members to invite, we will send them an invite on October 22. We
appreciate RSVPs so refreshments can be planned accordingly.
Asbestos Management Plan - Cathedral High School has an
Asbestos Management Plan prepared for all the buildings on our
campus. This plan is available for your inspection Monday-Friday
during regular school hours in the school Maintenance office.
Cathedral High School is very vigilant about the asbestos contained
on campus. We perform regular 6 month in-house monitoring of ABM
(Asbestos Containing Materials) as well as 3 year inspections by
independent authorized inspectors.
