A Message from the Principal

Dear Parents,

Join us at the final high school band concert of the year tonight at 7:00 pm in Holy Angels. Music fromFrozen, Brave, and How to Train your Dragon will be featured.
Girl Scout Troup #799 is collecting donations for Anna Marie's new Pet Shelter. Anna Marie's provides a safe place for victims of domestic abuse. At least 48% of women delay leaving their abuser out of fear for their pet's safety. Anna Marie's is building a new pet shelter to allow families to bring their pets with them to the center. The pet shelter is in need of the following items: cat or dog toys, pet treats, food trays, cat litter, litter boxes, blankets, leashes, and books, movies, or CD's about animals (for a learning center for the children). A donation box is located at Cathedral to collect new or gently used items for this new pet shelter. Donations will be collected through Friday, May 30.

There is an important town hall meeting on May 20 at the Tech High School Auditorium, 7:00 to 8:30 pm: "Teen Use of Alcohol and other Chemicals." I will send you more information as I get it.

Thanks to Cindy Fasching and her Prom Committee for a great evening on Saturday night. The young ladies were lovely and the young men looked handsome and so mature! The police officer who helped chaperone told us it was the nicest group of students he'd ever chaperoned, and he kept remarking that it was such an easy evening for him. Also - thank you to the incredible group of senior parents who showed up at 11:00 pm to help us take down all of the decorations and do the clean up. In the past, we've been there as late as 2:00 am doing this job, but many hands made quick work of it, and I was home shortly after midnight. I hope this is the start of a much appreciated tradition.

We have our last all school liturgy on Wednesday. It is supposed to be outdoors, but that appears unlikely. Please join us in the gym at 9:30 am on Wednesday morning.

Blessings,

Lynn Grewing
