A Message from the Principal
The students who traveled to Africa are back, safe and sound. All of our summer trips went well. They are such great learning experiences for young adults, and I am so grateful to the trip organizers and chaperones for their planning and supervision. Even the Voyageur crews are back, so now we just have a group of Chutes baseball players playing in the Legion regional tournament in Fargo. If they win tonight, they will go on to the national tournament in North Carolina.
Fall sports practices begin today. A reminder that your student cannot participate until we have a physical form on file.
We have a position in Food Service open this fall. The hours are 10:00 to 1:00 and the position is cashier plus other duties. If you are interested, stop by the Main Office and complete an application.
You should have received a second mailing packet that included lunch information and a reminder that Cathedral will be tree and peanut safe this year. It's important that everyone learn to read labels in order to avoid any products with peanuts at school.
Please put our All Family Welcome Back picnic on your calendars! This event is next Thursday at 5:00 pm in the area just beyond the North Gym. The buildings will be open and teachers will be in their rooms. It's our version of open house. Students and parents can socialize, meet the teachers, walk through their schedules, and try locker combinations. We will provide hot dogs, chips, veggies sticks. Families should bring their own beverages, and a dessert or fruit to share if you wish.
A message from Father Ben Kociemba " I would like to announce a new opportunity for CHS students this year! It is a pilgrimage to Rome, July 20 - August 5, available for all 2015 juniors and graduating seniors. This will be an opportunity where students will be able to explore their faith, encounter the Church and Rome in its long history, see the Pope and experience a little Italian culture! The pilgrimage will be led by Patrick Flynn, Father Scott Pagatchnik and myself. We will be staying at the University of St. Mary campus in Rome where they will receive LARGELY discounted rooms and be able to receive two college credits for what they will be learning and experiencing. We will be having a parent and student information meeting on Sunday, August 17 at 7 PM in the conference room at CHS. No need to be committed yet! We hope that you can join us on August 17th!
