A Message from the Principal
Parent/teacher conferences are postponed until this Thursday (Nov. 13) evening, 4-7 pm. We do have teachers with unavoidable conflicts - things that were already on the calendar for Thursday. You will have an opportunity to put your name on a list to be contacted by that teacher.
Our first middle school Activity Night is next Friday, Nov. 14, 6:30 - 9:30 pm in the North Gym. We provide a safe evening for our 7th and 8th grade students. They can play basketball, volleyball, 4-square, or dance.
There has been a problem with ACT sign up that has now been corrected. You may now choose CHS as your student's preferred site for the April test. If you ended up signing up for a different school, there is a fee to change that - unless you mention a "data entry error" in your communication with them. They made the error and will change it for you if you let them know. The ACT website is www.act.org.

From the CHS Library: Help bring our book collection back to life! Parent Teacher conferences will provide you with two opportunities to help bring Cathedral High School's non-fiction library book collection up to date. Sign up and purchase a Cheesecake Factory cheesecake. Barnes and Noble will be providing sample cheesecake at conferences. Come, enjoy, and plan to make a purchase! All proceeds will go toward purchasing current non-fiction titles for our library. Or, make a commitment to donate a book by signing up and choosing a non-fiction book title from our tables located near the conference check ins. Plan to come to our bookfair at Barnes & Noble on Sunday, Dec. 7 to purchase the title you choose. The specific book will be graced with your donation nameplate and become part of our non-fiction collection at Cathedral High School.
From our Chaplain:
I would like to mention few things. The first is that we will be having a special speaker coming to Cathedral on December 11th. His name is Jason Evert. Jason is a nationally and world-renowned speaker on dating and relationships. He draws his message from St. John Paul II’s Theology of the Body which explores the call for all us to never “use” others in our relationships, but to always “love” them. Jason spells this out in the very concrete, addressing heartfelt questions that teens ask: What does a healthy relationship look like? How far is too far? How do I look for a great friend or a future soulmate? In the weeks leading up to this talk, I will, in this eBlast, give you a feel for what he will be presenting. Many teens have found Jason very engaging and the message of Theology of the Body truly enlightening. His website isthechastityproject.com
Once again, we are offering a pilgrimage to Rome, July 19th through August 4th of 2015. It will be a wonderful opportunity to experience the faith, the Church and the Italian culture. We will be going to many of the holy sites around Rome and travel to Assisi, Siena and Monte Cassino. The students will have the opportunity to grow in their faith, visit extremely significant places while earning some college credits and having fun along the way! We are opening the pilgrimage up to current juniors and seniors through November. A first downpayment of $100 will be due on November 21st. We will have another meeting on Sunday, November 23rd at Cathedral at 7 PM. Please contact Patrick Flynn or myself and we would love to get into more detail with you s about this pilgrimage!
Our book of "remembrance" will be in the main foyer of school during the month of November. You may come in and sign, or send us the name(s) of any one you would like placed in our book. You may include a name(s), and also a short prayer or message.
All students have received information about our Magazine Fundraiser. Profits from these magazine sales go directly to our Activities Department.
Click hereto order. Cathedral's code is 2610541.
