A Message from the Principal

Dear Parents,
Cathedral's National Honor Society is hosting a Blood Drive this Wednesday in our Center Gym. Parents are welcome; please consider this opportunity to really make a difference. If you are able to come in and donate blood, just click back to this email with the time that you would like to be on the schedule. If your student is 16 or older, they are also encouraged to donate blood- we ask that you talk to them about the worthy cause.

Also, we are in the middle of our annual Christmas Food Drive. We hope that every family will donate food or personal items (shampoo, diapers, etc.) We'll deliver everything to Catholic Charities next Tuesday in time for them to help some families for Thanksgiving. We do take turkeys; Vicki is nice enough to let us store them in the big freezer.

Just a reminder: Grandparents' Day is next Wednesday. We hope you have sent us names of grandmas and grandpas to invite. They can register through our website through a tab on the front page. We'll start serving breakfast at7:15 am and the morning culminates with Mass celebrated with Bishop Kettler at9:00 am.

Thank you to the kind parents who chaperoned our Activity Night on Friday night. Lots and lots of kids attended and appeared to have a great time.
We still plan to have our practice Snow Day this Friday. Because we had the snow day last week unexpectedly, we learned a lot, and we want to put what we learned into practice. Students will find that the lessons are easier to find and clearer.
The annual Share the Spirit Concert is this Thursday at 7:00 pm at St. Mary's Cathedral. This concert, featuring choirs and strings from Cathedral and St. John's Preparatory School is also the opening to the holiday season. A free will offering goes to Catholic Charities as they help families at Christmas time.

A reminder that Parent Council meets tomorrow, Tuesday, November18th in the Conference Room off the senior lounge. The meeting begins at11:30and will last approximately 1 hour. Our speaker this month is Mr. Matt Meyer, Associate Director of Advancement for Enrollment at CHS. It’s a great and easy way to get involved in our school. We look forward to seeing you there!
There has been a problem with ACT sign up that has now been corrected. You may now choose CHS as your student's preferred site for the April test. If you ended up signing up for a different school, there is a fee to change that - unless you mention a "data entry error" in your communication with them. They made the error and will change it for you if you let them know. The ACT website is www.act.org.
