A Message from the Principal
Governor Dayton has canceled schools on Monday due to the expected severely cold weather. (Students are thrilled!)
Please join us at the Benefit for Alyssa Lommel, Cathedral grad and UMD student, who was involved in a cold weather accident in December. The benefit is this Sunday, Jan. 5 at the Blue Line South, 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. Enjoy a spaghetti dinner, meat raffle and silent auction. All proceeds will go to the Alyssa Lommel Fund at Bremer Bank.
Thanks to the efforts of junior Ethan Rajkowski, we are selling "Stay Strong, Alyssa" bracelets ($2.00). All proceeds will go to the Alyssa Lommel Fund. You may purchase them in the Main Office, and they will be sold at upcoming sporting events. Consider buying one for every family member.
Cathedral Girls' Basketball team will be hosting JAM the Gym for PAA athletes through 8th grade on Friday, Jan. 10. Students wearing blue/gold or their team jersey will receive free admission with chaperone. There will be a shooting contest during halftime with prizes. JV and C-Squad games start at 6 pm and the Varsity game begins at 7:30 pm.
We will host a parent meeting to discuss the PLAN results (sophomores) on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 7:00 to 8:00 pm in the library. Students were given their results, so parents should bring a copy of those results to the meeting.

The Cathedral Football Team is selling and delivering Water Softener Salt and Ice Melt as a fundraiser for their program. The team is selling multiple types of salt and the first delivery date is Saturday January 18, 2014. The team will deliver the salt right into your house if you are home, or will leave it at a designated spot at your home if you are not! Please contact Booster Club President Angie Sufka email@example.com any of the current varsity football players or coaches for an order form. Orders must be received January 8, 2014in order to make the first delivery date. A 30-mile delivery radius from CHS applies.
The Annual Fundraiser for the Tanzanian Village Fund is Jan. 12, 2014 at the Gorecki Center, College of St. Benedict. Doors open at 1:30 and dinner starts at 2:00 pm. This annual fundraiser is part of the goal of making life better for the people of Mikocheni. The event will include an update on the organization, a presentation from the most recent trip participants, dinner, and a silent auction.
