Academics

Both Educating and Formulating

Cathedral takes a different approach to education. While we take great pride in teaching science, math, technology, English, and other literacies, we go a step further. We help your child develop the social and emotional skills they'll need to succeed as well. We work with them on critical thinking and prepare them to enter a competitive global marketplace. And what you want for your child is to have both the education and foundation they need to live a fulfilling and successful life, isn't it?

Academics are at the core of the Cathedral experience. Our rigorous academic curriculum is both challenging and engaging. Our college preparatory curriculum includes a concentration of STREAMS-based (Science, Technology, Reading/Writing, Engineering, Art, Math, and Spirituality) courses, designed to prepare your student for their next academic step.

Cathedral students experience:

  • A trades and/or college preparatory curriculum that's developmentally appropriate for your child.
  • A faith foundation that instills a theology-based belief system, Christ-centered values, and strong moral character.
  • A learning experience that integrates traditional classroom learning with hands-on, experiential learning.
  • Faculty that's deeply committed and connected to your student's unique potential.
  • An awareness of global impact through Cathedral's service learning opportunities.
  • A learning environment and teaching team that recognizes and celebrates your student's diverse strengths and talents.

Our role at Cathedral is to come alongside you, the parents, to partner in your child’s academic and social development. We’re in this together, and we’re better together.

Catholic School Myth...Busted!

MYTH: Catholic Schools don’t offer trade opportunities.

Now more than ever, the demand for trade workers is on the rise, and trade careers are proving to be both fulfilling and lucrative. As a school preparing students for their next step in life, Cathedral has recognized this trend and adopted more trades classes, preparing students who may not be looking at a four-year college as their next step.

“We’ve seen and are responding to a shift in economic demand and student learning interests. Our hands-on courses are part of our rounded approach to education. These trades classes teach unique, practical skills for both four-year college bound or trades-training bound students.”
~Deacon Jim Trout, Teacher, Applied Engineering
