The Boys' Soccer closed out the season last night with a 2-1 win over Little Falls, clinching the Granite Ridge Conference crown. Hayden Speaks scored both Cathedral goals. The Crusaders, 14-0-2 on the season, will learn their playoff seed later this morning and will open the playoffs at home either tomorrow or Saturday.
Nick Golebiowski was the top finisher at the Tech Invite as the Boys' Cross-Country team won the Tech Invite, that featured all Class 2A schools except CHS. Beau Gerding was third overall. On the Girls' side, Rachel Eickhoff finished 10th as the girls' team was 8th overall.
And, the Volleyball team won at Little Falls 3-0. Set scores were 25-17, 25-22, and 25-16. Jenna Januschka had 17 kills for Cathedral and Rylee Medelberg added 13 kills. Sophie Harris finished with 24 kills for the Crusaders who are 7-2 in conference play and 14-7 overall.
You may have already heard, but we have some very special events set for this Friday at Cathedral. The 2012 Class of the Cathedral Athletic Hall of Fame will be honored and inducted - and Jim Henry '69 will have his #42 football jersey will be retired. Kelly Haws '82, Laura (Henry) Iten '98, Tina Kampa '91, "Scoop" Reif '69, Dan Meyer '77 and Tom Eickhoff '77 will be inducted into the Hall of Fame at halftime of the football game. There will be a reception open to the public for all at Great River Bowl in Sartell after the game. Hope to see you there.
