The Boys' Soccer team advanced to the section final with a 1-0 semifinal win over Hillcrest/Pelican Rapids. Hayden Speaks scored the lone goal of the game in the 71st minute for Cathedral. The Crusaders play Bemidji for the section title at 8pm tomorrow evening at Husky Stadium.
The Boys' Cross-Country team won the Granite Ridge Conference meet with a very impressive team score of 24. Cathedral placed five runners in the top seven. Nick Golebiowski was 2nd, Cole Wintheiser 4th, Beau Gerding 5th, Noah Ebel 6th and Peter Spethmann 7th overall for the Crusaders.
The Girls' Cross-Country team finished second at the Granite Ridge Conference meet behind Little Falls. Rachel Eickhoff was first overall in the girls' race and Morgan Durbin came in 5th for CHS. Both CC teams are in the section meet in Pierz next Thursday.
The CHS/SJP Girls' Swim and Dive team fell to Princeton 100-80 in a very competitive meet. The Crusaders won five events. SJP's Sydney Wenner won the 100 fly and 100 breaststroke; CHS' Rose Daniels won the 200 freestyle; CHS' Sophie Titus came in first in the 100 free; and the Crusaders won the 200 free relay (Loundy Silkman, Rose Daniels, Morgan Gerhardt and Lily Johnson) and also won the 400 free relay with some of the same swimmers listed above.
And, the Volleyball team closed out the regular season with a 3-1 win over Foley. Set scores were 22-25, 25-16, 25-6, and 25-15. Rylee Medelberg led the Crusaders with 11 kills and 5 blocks. The Crusaders finish Granite Ridge Conference play at 8-3 and are 15-8-1 overall.
The Football team closes out the regular season at Zimmerman at 7pm. If you can't make the trip, you can hear the game live on AM-800, WVAL.
The Volleyball team closes out the regular season at the Sartell tournament beginning at 9am.
And, the Boys' Soccer team plays for the Section 8A title and a trip to the state tournament against Bemidji at 8pm at Husky Stadium at SCSU.
