Activities update - 10/26/12


The Boys' Soccer team advanced to the state semifinals with a 2-1 win over St. Paul Como Park in the quarterfinals last night in Hopkins.  Austin Mareck scored in the first half and Charlie Schuweiler scored the game winner with 10:49 remaining in the game.  Hayden Speaks assisted on both goals.  The Crusaders are 18-0-2 and play St. Paul Academy and Summit School in the semifinals at noon Monday at the Metrodome.

Greta Egerman and Erin Stocker split a pair of doubles matches at the state tennis tournament yesterday.  They fell to a team from Blake 6-2, 6-1 and then beat a team from Eveleth-Gilbert in a match that went to a super-tiebreaker, with CHS winning 10-8.  They play this morning at 8am and then possibly at 11:30am in Minneapolis.

Today:

Erin Stocker and Greta Egerman play in the consolation semifinals at the state tennis tourney at 8am.  A win puts them in the consolation final at 11:30am.

The Section 5A Boys' and Girls' Cross-Country meet - postponed from yesterday due to wet weather - is this afternoon at Pierz.  The girls run at 4pm and the boys at 4:30pm.

And, the Volleyball team opens section play tonight - hosting Annandale in the North Gym at 7pm.  A reminder that passes are not honored at this game - and all must purchase a ticket.

Tomorrow:

The Cathedral/SJP Girls' Swim and Dive competes in the Granite Ridge Conference Championships in Sartell.  The swimming finals begin at 1pm.

And, the Football team travels to Foley to take on the Falcons in a 7pm game in the section semifinals.  If you can't make the game, you can hear it live on AM-800, WVAL.
