The Boys' Cross-Country team won the Section 5A title on Friday, claiming 5 of the 6 top spots. Nick Golebiowski paced Cathedral, finishing second overall. The Girls finished third overall. Rachel Eickhhoff qualified for the state meet as an individual. The state meet is this Saturday morning at St. Olaf college in Northfield.
Erin Stocker and Greta Egerman finished sixth overall at the state tennis tournament. On Friday, they won their first match in straight sets and then lost in the consolation final in a super-tiebreaker 11-9. A great finish for a great team.
The Volleyball team advanced in the Section 6AA tourney with a 3-1 win over Annandale. The Crusaders face Dassel-Cokato tomorrow at 6pm in Annandale in the sub-section semifinals.
On Saturday, the Football team fell to Foley 35-6 in the section semifinals in a game that was closer than the final score would indicate. The Crusaders finish the season at 4-6.
And, the Cathedral/SJP Girls' Swim and Dive team had one conference champion in a very competitive Granite Ridge Conference Championships in Sartell. SJP's Sydney Wenner won the 100 Butterfly at 1:04.66, breaking her own conference record. The Crusaders had several other very good swims heading to the section meet on 11/9 and 11/10.
The Boy's Soccer team plays in the State Semifinals, taking on St. Paul Academy and Summit School at noon at the Metrodome. A win would put the Crusaders in Thursday's State Championship game.
And, the CHS Choir performs in the SCSU Choral Connections Concert at 7pm at SCSU.
