Activities Update - 11/12/12

SJP's Sydney Wenner is headed to the state meet as the CHS/SJP Girls' Swim and Dive team was very competitive in the section meet on Saturday.  Sydney broke her own school record - going 1:01.30 in the 100 butterfly to finish second and earn the state meet trip.  Other highlights include CHS 7th-grader Morgan Gerhardt finishing fifth in the 500 freestyle and Sophie Titus finishing 8th overall in the 100 backstroke.  CHS/SJP also finished in the top 8 in both the 200 free relay (Rose Daniels, Loundy Silkman, Lily Johnson and Sydney Wenner - 8th) and 400 free relay (Loundy Silkman, Rose Daniels, Morgan Gerhardt and Sophie Titus - 7th).

The Cathedral Bowling team finished 3rd overall at Saturday's Conference Tourney.  7th-grader Jon Hall finished fourth overall in the individual standings to make the All-Honors team.  Josh Valerius and Claire Turner also earned All-Honors.

Grant Wintheiser '11 was the individual Champion at the Central Region Cross-Country meet on Saturday to pace St. Olaf to the team win.  Grant ran the 8,000 meter course in 25:20.9 for the Oles who are headed to the National Division III meet in Terre Haute, Indiana this weekend.

Anne Schleper '08 finished with a goal and an assist as the USA Women's team won the Four Nations tourney in Finland.  Anne was +4 for the US team and had a power play goal in the 3-0 Gold Medal win over rival Canada.

And, the USA U17 hockey team won the Four Nations tourney in Switzerland.  Austin Poganski '14 was a member of the team that went 3-0 in the tourney that wrapped up yesterday.

There are no activities today as we have the second day of parent/teacher conferences from 4pm to 7pm.  We do start many practices today including Girls' Basketball, Boys' Hockey and Nordic Skiing.  Believe it or not, the first Girls' Hockey game of the season is tomorrow.

Have a great day!
