Activities Update - 4/30/12

Congratulations to director Laura Workman and the entire cast and crew of GREASE! The performances over the weekend were fantastic and were at or near capacity for the evening shows for the first time in several years.  Nicely done, all!!

On Friday, the Softball team lost to Sauk Rapids 15-14 in a wild affair; and the St. Cloud Area Girls' Lacrosse team lost to Elk River 20-6.

On Saturday, the Boys' Golf team finished 5th at the Cardinal Invite at the Vintage.  Sam LaBine fired a 79 to lead Cathedral.

Some alumni athletic notes:  Phil Imholte '08 had five RBI in St. Cloud State's baseball doubleheader sweep of Crookston yesterday; and Tyler McMorrow '10 shot a 3-under 139 over 36 holes for Gustavus yesterday to finish second overall at the St. John's Invite at the Monticello Country Club.

You may or may not have seen this article in yesterday's Times, but our long-time friends Bobby and Karen Velline are facing some medical challenges.  Bobby and Karen - and later their children - helped raise over $1-million dollars for Cathedral athletics and activities over the years of "Rockin Round the Clock."  Their family is in our thoughts and prayers.  Vees
