The Boys' Golf team finished 8th yesterday in the 18 team Apollo Invite field. Peter Spethmann and Garret McCormick led Cathedral, both carding 79.
The Boys' Tennis team lost to conference-leading Foley 7-0.
The Tech/Cathedral Boys' Lacrosse team lost to Chaska 13-6. CHS' Zach Affeldt had the hat trick for St. Cloud.
And, the Baseball team moved to 8-1 on the season with a 6-1 non-conference win over New London-Spicer at Dick Putz Field. MIchael Ellingson got the win on the mound for the Crusaders. The Crusaders Eric Pelant has been named the Times' Athlete of the Week for his no-hitter last week. You can read more about it here: Eric
More alumni sports notes this morning:
Emily Kerber '08 has qualified for the NCAA D-2 Central Regional tourney in golf. She will play in New Mexico this coming Sunday through Tuesday. Emily led SCSU this year with an 84.4 stroke average.
Andrew Thome '11 has been named the Great West Conference pitcher of the week. He threw the first-ever D-1 shutout for North Dakota, striking out seven in a complete game win over Northern Colorado.
And - Steve Rindelaub '08 drove in three runs and Nick Maiers '10 went six innings to get the win as St. Cloud State beat St. John's 10-5 yesterday in baseball action at Joe Faber Field.
Today - weather permitting:
The Girls' Golf team is at a Granite Ridge meet at Milaca at noon.
The Softball team hosts a double-header with two different opponents today, playing Mora at 4pm and Sauk Centre at 6pm at River's Edge Park in Waite Park.
The Track and Field teams have a Granite Ridge meet at Milaca. It will follow a quad-athlon format.
The Boys' Tennis team is at Princeton at 4:30pm.
The Baseball team travels to Mora for a 5pm match-up.
And, the St. Cloud Area Girls' Lacrosse team hosts Mound-Westonka at 6:30pm at Husky Stadium.
