Congratulations to Donnell Lastine-Chopp and the CHS Bands on a great concert last night.
The Boys' Tennis closed out the regular season with a tough loss to Monticello, 4-3. The Crusaders open section play on Thursday against New London-Spicer.
Some more alumni notes -- there are three college baseball teams in the St. Cloud area, and all three are playing in National tournies this weekend. St. Cloud State is in the D-2 Regional in Mankato starting tomorrow; St. John's is in the D-3 Regional in Oregon starting tomorrow and St. Cloud Technical & Community College is in the Junior College World Series in Texas beginning Saturday. And, all three have Cathedral grads on the team: Nick Maiers, Phil Imholte and Steve Rindelaub for SCSU, Brace Hemmelgarn for SJU; and Matt Dietman for SCTCC. Very nice.
This brings the number of CHS grads who have or will play in National Tournies this year to at least 15. I will list them here and you can let me know if I missed anyone: Anne Schleper (U of M hockey), Nate Schmidt (U of M hockey), Matt Crandell (Mich. State hockey), Anna Zyvoloski and Megan Windschitl (St. Scholastica volleyball), Tom Spaniol (St. Scholastica baseball), Larissa Peyton (St. Thomas track and field), Nate Hoefflin (Washburn, MO golf), Tyler McMorrow (Gustavus golf), Emily Kerber (SCSU golf) - and the five baseball players listed above makes 15!! Not bad for a school our size. If I missed anyone, please let me know and I will add to the list.
The Girls' Golf team is at the Milaca Invite at 11:30am.
The Girls' and Boys' Track and Field teams compete in the Granite Ridge Conference Championships in Little Falls beginning at 3pm.
The Softball team hosts Zimmerman at Whitney at 4:15pm.
The Baseball team is at Zimmerman at 5pm.
And, the Lacrosse teams host Coon Rapids in a doubleheader at Husky Stadium with the girls playing at 5pm and the boys at 6:30pm.
Have a great day!
