I hope you weathered the storm OK last night.
The late afternoon storms created interesting situations for some of our teams yesterday.
The Softball team lost to Mora 1-0 despite 13 strikeouts from Maria Bastin on the mound. They were scheduled to take on Sauk Centre after that game, but the approaching storms sent everyone at the field in Waite Park for cover.
Led by Greta Egerman's 89, the Girls' Golf team won the Granite Ridge meet in Mora and then hunkered down in the Coborn's store in Foley to ride out the storm on the way home.
The Track and Field teams were chased from the field in Milaca and then waited out the storms in the high school gym.
The Boys' Tennis team had their match suspended with many of the individual matches still in the first set at Princeton. They were able to get home before the worst of the storms hit.
And, the Baseball team led Mora 1-0 in the bottom of the 5th inning when play was suspended in Mora. The team then had to pull off the road in Milaca and wait out the storms. This will game will likely be resumed Mora comes to St. Cloud on May 22nd.
We told you earlier this week about Tyler McMorrow's '10 golf performance over the weekend for Gustavus. Tyler was named the MIAC Golf Athlete of the Week for his efforts. You can read about it here: Tyler
Eighteen Cathedral students exhibit their work and compete at the Region 5A Visual Arts Festival in New London.
