CHS Board Approves Key Action for Campaign!
At their January 24, 2019 meeting, the Cathedral High School Board of Directors unanimously approved moving forward with completion of the construction documents for Cathedral’s new Academic Building by architectural firm ATS&R.
ATS&R, the architect of record for this project, completed the Design Phase for the new Academic Building in June of 2018, in close coordination with McGough Construction and the Cathedral Building Committee.
Fundraising for this new Academic Building continues and must be completed prior to construction beginning. However, in acknowledgement of the critical and urgent nature of this project, and to keep the project on a schedule that allows for construction to begin in the summer of 2019 the Cathedral Board made its decision to move forward.
Board Chair and Building Committee member Fr. Tom Knoblach said, "Cathedral has a long and rich history of commitment and resiliency through many changes in its 135 years. Each day, we benefit from the generosity of past generations not only in the legacy of CHS but in itsphysical spaces. While this project has taken longer than originally anticipated, the vision and dedication to provide new spaces for today's education and tomorrow's students has not wavered. Working together, we hope to stand in those spaces one day soon."
The fundraising for the new building stands at $12,415,851 for cash and commitments towardsthe $16,500,000 estimated cost of the new building... and the $18,000,000 overall goal of the campaign, which includes $1,500,000 for the elementary schools within the St. Cloud area Catholic School system.
