We are excited that you are interested in being part of our group.

The Minnesota High School Mock Trial Program is an exciting law-related education program that introduces students to the American legal system and provides a challenging opportunity for personal growth and achievement. Students exercise their critical thinking and teamwork skills, as well as the basic skills learned in the classroom. Mock Trial allows students to experience an activity outside the classroom and enhances their teamwork and persuasive public speaking skills as well as introducing them to the Judiciary system. There are four Mock Trial meets held in actual District Courtrooms, as well as the opportunity to advance to the State Meet and from there, Nationals.
How Mock Trial works: Students are provided a case with case materials that includes affidavits, exhibits as well as stipulations and Court rulings. The cases rotate between civil and criminal cases each year. The students develop a theory of the case and their own line of questioning with the assistance of an attorney coach.
Practices: vary based on student/attorney schedules, but typically mornings from 7:15-8:00am. Competitions are during the school day and transportation is provided to the various courthouses.
