The classroom is just one of the places for students to learn at Cathedral. Students experience and learn through a variety of travel experiences. German and Spanish trips offer our young people the opportunity to hone their language skills and to experience the culture of other countries firsthand. Students in Dick McMorrow's Global Issues class travel to Tanzania where they see and live life in a third world country. The workings of the federal government in Washington, D.C. is the focus of the Close-up trip for Cathedral sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Band and choir students make an annual trip to experience the music and culture of a particular area of the United States. In 2012, this group traveled to New Orleans. Minnesota Geology students make several short trips to various parts of our state to study land forms and rocks. We see these extended travel opportunities as just as valuable as the learning that happens here at school. Students become more aware of the world beyond St. Cloud and they are better global citizens.
