President's Page - July 2016

Happy New Year!  Though this greeting is seldom used in July, it is the true beginning of a new year at Cathedral.  We’ve put the final touches on a very successful year #131 and now we forge ahead working toward an even stronger school, commended, accredited, and newly refreshed.

Thank you for being at the very important center of our circle of support.  We cherish the relationship we have with you while noting we can’t do much without you.

It’s too soon to give you a final report on the year just ended, but when we get the audited financial statements, the wrap-up from advancement, an update on facilities, and the latest news regarding our award-winning program, I’ll get that information to you.  We know for sure we had the best-ever A Celebration of Seasons, so if you were a part of that, thank you!

More than 600 different children are participating in a variety of summer school experiences, but other than those activities campus is much quieter.  Our custodial and maintenance crews take advantage of these days to make repairs and improvements to our facilities.

Enrollment looks strong for the first day of school on August 29th; at this point we are expecting a slight increase over last year.  We are fully staffed, we’ve got a balanced budget, and between now and the start of school we’ll welcome hundreds of alumni back to campus for Reunion Weekend – always the 2nd full weekend of August and ALL are welcome.

The Campaign for Cathedral is in full swing.  Bob and Kathy Lahr have conducted face-to-face, sit-down visits with 109 different people (couples/ organizations) to-date.  Before October we plan to achieve the goal of having met with at least 200.  We are on the way to reaching our goal of $16,500,000 with about $7,200,000 in signed, certified commitments.  Several very important and significant donors are prayerfully considering our invitation to them and could add millions to the total with positive responses.

Bountiful blessings!

Michael A. Mullin
