A Message from the Principal
Dear Parents and Friends,
1. I will be having an ACT Prep Class starting tomorrow (Wed.) at 11:30 a.m. We will go until 1:00 p.m. - and then we'll decide if that's too long for a summer session. This course is for incoming juniors or seniors. We will discuss the makeup of the test, and look specifically at the English and Reading sections. I do not do math. I will have handouts for the students, there is no need to buy a prep book at this time.
Dates:
June 12, June 19, June 26
July 17, 24, and 31
We'll meet in my office, but we'll find a classroom if there are more than five students.
2. One of my goals for this summer is a re-visioning of our service component. I will keep you posted. In the meantime, if your son/daughter is doing service, just assume that we will count it toward their 70 hour requirement. Here's a great service opportunity for someone: our costume room is in real need of clean up and organization. This would probably take several days' work. If you know of a student who might be interested in tackling this project for service hours, just let me know.
3. A few reminders from the Activities Office:
Crusader Golf Open: The 23rd Annual Crusader Golf Open will take place on Monday, June 24th at Wapicada Golf Course. Shot gun start at 12:00pm followed by a social, dinner and silent auction. Cost is $90 per individual by June 17th. Click here to register online or to download a registration form. If you would like to sponsor a hole, please call 257-2130.
Sports Physicals: A reminder that all athletes must have a current sports physical on file at Cathedral before they will be allowed to participate in sports. Physicals are current for 3 years. Typically incoming 7th graders and incoming 10th graders need sports physicals. Appointments fill up quickly, so please call your clinic soon to schedule your appointment. Forms are available online by clicking here, or outside of the Activities Office. If you would like to check on your athletes sports physical, please call 257-2120.
Fall Sports: Look for information regarding Fall Sports to be available in July! You can also check for schedules, meetings, practice schedules by clicking here. The Activities Office will have limited hours during the summer but will keep the sports websites up to date with news from the coaches.
