Scholarships

The CHS Guidance Office posts a variety of scholarships throughout the year. Please continue to check the Cathedral website for updated information.

Tip Top Tux: Since 2011, Tip Top Tux has awarded twenty-six area high school students with college scholarships.  The recipients were chosen from thousands of applicants based on academic achievement, extracurricular activities, financial need and volunteer service in their communities. 2017 Scholarship Application at: www.TTTuxprom.com/scholarship.  Apply by: March 1, 2017

Bird Island - Hawk Creek Mutual Insurance Company: Offering five scholarships of $1,000 each to five graduating seniors. One scholarship will be presented to a student that will be furthering his/her education in the agricultural field, four will be presented to students entering a non-agricultural field. Presentation of the five awards will be January 23, 2017 at the Bird Island-Hawk Creek Mutual's Annual Meeting held at the Island Ballroom in Bird Island.
Criteria:
• GPA
• Transcript
• ACT Test Result
• Extra-curricular Activities
• 1-3 Letters of Recommendation

Rove Pest Control in Minnesota: Open to anyone seeking a higher education, special consideration given to anyone pursuing a degree in entomology or a related field.  Award amount, $500.
Criteria:
• Must be attending college Fall 2017
• Minimum 3.0 GPA
• Transcript

Minnesota Women's Golf Association Foundation Scholarship: The MSGA Foundation Scholarship is an award of $3,000 per year, renewable for four years ($12,000). This scholarship may be applied toward undergraduate tuition, books, room and board.
Criteria:
• be in her senior year
• have a GPA at or above 3.2
• be a U.S. Citizen, and a female resident of Minnesota
• complete and file the FAFSA
• complete the MWGAF Scholarship Application
• be enrolled or about to enroll in an accredited college for four consecutive years
•be available for a telephone or in person interview

George W. Friedrich Foundation Scholarship: The George W. Friedrich Foundation is offering two $500 scholarships to two Lion's District 5M-8 high school senior. Submit application and essay to the Guidance Office, S116, by March 10th, 2017. Criteria include:
• Community service/activities
• Upper 50% of class
• Planning to attend a college/university or technical college
• Extracurricular involvement
• Essay

Zonta Club of St. Cloud, Young Women in Public Affairs Award The Zonta Club of St. Cloud will select a winner from area high schools and award the winner $500. That winner will advance to the District competition level. The District winner will receive a $1,000 award and be entered into the International Contest. Kiwanis Educational Foundation, Inc. * Note, you do not need to be a monthly Kiwanis student to apply for this scholarship. The Minnesota-Dakota District of Kiwanis International is offering a one-year, $865.00 scholarship to a student graduating from a high school in and planning to attend college in Minnesota, North and South Dakota, or Superior, Wisconsin. Application deadline January 20, 2017.
