Scholarships for High School Students Grades 9 - 12

John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Essay Contest 
In Profiles in Courage, John F. Kennedy recounted the stories of eight U.S. senators who risked their careers to do what was right for the nation. These leaders demonstrated political courage by taking a stand for the public good in spite of pressure by interest groups, their political party, or even their constituents. The Profile in Courage Essay Contest challenges students to write an original and creative essay that demonstrates an understanding of political courage as described by John F. Kennedy in Profiles in Courage.
• Contest is open to high school students in grades 9-12.
• Essays must be between 700-1000 words.
•Essays must describe an act of political courage by a U.S. elected official who served during or after 1917.
• Essays must have a minimum of five sources.
• All students must complete an online registration form.
• All students must list the name of their nominating teacher.
• Registration and Essay submission deadline is January 17, 2020.

Scholarships for Seniors in High School

Bird Island-Hawk Creek Mutual Insurance Company Scholarship 
Five scholarships of $1,000 each will be awarded to five graduating seniors enrolled in a school in the operating territory of Bird Island-Hawk Creek Mutual Insurance Company.
•Students must include a copy of their high school transcript and ACT or other test scores.
•Must include at least one and not more than three letters of recommendation.
• Winners will be asked to attend the Company's annual meeting on January 27, 2020 to receive their award.
• Submit applications and all other requirements no later than December 1, 2019 to:

Fireside Catholic Publishing Essay Contest 
Fireside Catholic Publishing is pleased to recognize outstanding Catholic High School seniors who are daily “Putting their Faith into Action”. Five winners will receive $1,000 cash award for their essay entries on the topic “How is your religious education influencing your life?”
Important details:
• Must be a senior in a Catholic High School.
• Each school may only submit one student entry.
• Do not fold or staple your application or essay.
• Must include a high resolution portrait and image release.
• Winners will be announced via Facebook @FiresideCatholic on April 13, 2020.
• Submit your completed application along with your 750 word essay no later than
to the Cathedral High School Guidance Office.
• Application Deadline is December 2nd, 2019

Affinity Plus Foundation Annual Scholarship Program 
The Affinity Plus Foundation works to engage, educate and empower individuals and communities. Through the Annual Scholarship Program the Foundation awards two $5,000 scholarships to incoming freshman coming directly from high school.
Eligibility Requirements include but are not limited to:
• Must be a high school senior in good standing
• Must be planning to attend a two or four year college or university for fall of 2020
• Applicant must be an Affinity Plus primary member, in good standing
• Will need to submit your most recent High School Transcript
• Complete responses to three essay questions.
• Deadline to apply is January 31st, 2020

TIP•TOP•TUX Formal Education Scholarship
Every year, Tip Top Tux awards area high school students with a college scholarship. Last year’s recipients were chosen from over 1200 applicants based on academic achievement extracurricular activities, financial need and volunteer service in their community.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Must be a high school senior
• Must have applied to a college or university for fall of 2020
• Participation in Volunteer and Community Service
• Participation in extracurricular activities
• Complete an essay
• Submit a completed online application
Scholarship Deadline is March 1st, 2020

Project S.A.V.E. Foundation 
The Project S.A.V.E. Foundation, developed by the St. Cloud Rox Baseball Club will award five $2,000 scholarships to local High School Seniors based on the following criteria:
• Participation in School Activities
• Participation in Volunteer and Community Service
• Attends a Central Minnesota High School
• Plans to attend either a two year or four year college or technical college
• Submit a completed application (using the form included)
• Submit a typed essay describing your candidacy as a possible recipient of Project S.A.V.E. Foundation Scholarship Award.
• Provide a recommendation letter from a teacher, counselor or principal on school stationary that validates the student’s application.
• Scholarship Deadline is Thursday, April 30th, 2020
