The Coborn Family Foundation $500,000 Challenge has been met!
The $500,000 challenge match presented to Cathedral by The Coborn Family Foundation has soared over its goal, yielding more than $1,100,000 for The Campaign for Cathedral!
When The Coborn Family Foundation presented the idea of a challenge about a year ago, the family wanted to recognize and honor longtime Cathedral teacher and coach, Fred Rupp '69. Fred thought about it for awhile, and in characteristic fashion asked that the recognition extend beyond just him to his colleagues and all staff and faculty before him.
The $500,000 matching gift challenge was presented to the Cathedral community in early November of 2018, and in the last 60 days inspired $615,090 in new gifts and commitments to The Campaign for Cathedral. Adding to this The Coborn Family Foundation gift of $500,000, the total toward The Campaign's goal of $18,000,000 is $1,115,090.
The focus of The Campaign for Cathedral is the construction of a 21st century facility featuring state-of-the art science, engineering, and visual arts learning spaces, as well as a chapel and collaboration spaces. Spectacular views to the Mississippi River as well as physical connections to the rest of campus will inspire and facilitate student learning while addressing the school's greatest needs.
